Learner: Suri and Ella    Learning Coach: Abby Morgan           Date: 6 March 2015
Learning Area: Math
Learning Observed
Today during Math Ella and Suri were provided with the choice of 3 activities. At the end of Math time they both bought their work to show me what they had been doing. Ella told me they had used two dice to create math problems and Suri told me how they had worked the answers out together. This was great use of time and excellent team work!
Evidence of learning

Suri and Ella showing their independent Math work. I wonder how many of these are basic facts to 10?
Key Competencies/Vision Principles
Great to see both Ella and Suri using the school vision principles of collaboration and capability during their learning time. They assisted each other in working out the equations and developed their known and unknown math capabilities. During this time Suri and Ella were using the Key Competencies of thinking and using language, symbols, and texts. They used their thinking skills to solve the problems and used correct math symbols and texts to record their learning.
Next Learning Steps
  • Numeral formation revision
  • Using materials to assist with the bigger equations
  • Discussion about strategies used to solve the equations
  • Share their fantastic learning with home
